gates III or we can call him Bill was born at October 24th 1955 in Seattle,
Washington. Bill was the second of third children in his family. He enjoyed
play game with his family and was very competitive. He liked reading too. Bill
was bored in public school, so his family moved his school to another school
named Lakeside School. Bill was interested in computer programming when he was
13. In Lakeside, Bill met Paul Allen and shared his interest in computer. When
Bill and Allen was 17, they were paid 20.000 dollars for a program named
Traf-O-Data and was used for counting traffic.
In 1973, Bill
Gates served as a congressional page in the U.S House of Representative. His
score was 1590 of 1600 on SAT, so he was accepted by Harvard University.
Meanwhile, Paul Allen was dropped out from Washington College and decided to
work in Honeywell Corporation. Paul Allen made sure Bill Gates to dropped out
from Harvard University and join with him and build a new software company in
Albuquerque, New Mexico. They called this company Micro-soft. This was soon changed to Microsoft, and
they moved their company to Bellevue, Washington.
Microsoft grew up so fast from 25 employees in 1978 to over
90.000 employees today. Microsoft developed many new technology and some of the
world’s most popular software and products such as Word and Power Point.
Bill Gates is one of the richest men in the world. In 2012,
his $61 billion dollars in assets made him the world’s second richest man
according to Forbes Magazine. In 2006, Gates announced that he would cut back
his involvement at Microsoft to spend more time on philanthropy and his
foundation. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation supports many causes
including the quest to eradicate Polio, fighting AIDS, malaria and
tuberculosis; providing vaccinations for children; and even reinventing the
toilet among many other things.
